Jagatsinghpur district administration reschedules classes in schools amid heatwave

Jagatsinghpur: In view of the prevailing heatwave condition in Odisha, the district administration of Jagatsinghpur has ordered for morning classes in schools.

Jagatsinghpur Collector J Sonal ordered for classes from 6:30 am to 9 am in all the schools including the privately-run ones. The order further stated the decision will continue to remain in force until further orders.

Today, 14 places of Odisha recorded 40 degrees Celsius or above. Titilagarh was the hottest at 42.5 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the district administration in several parts of the State has announced closure of schools and Anganwadi centres amid heatwave conditions.

Cuttack, Ganjam, Deogarh, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Subarnapur, Balangir and Nuapada district administrations have already ordered for closure of the educational institutions.
