Bhubaneswar: In a major push to industrial and economic growth, the Odisha Government on Tuesday approved investment proposals worth ₹3,877.14 crore for 18 industrial projects.
The approvals were granted during the 146th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
The projects, spread across 11 districts, are expected to generate around 7,565 employment opportunities. The districts include Balasore, Deogarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Khordha, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundargarh.
Key sectors and projects
Metal, steel and aluminium downstream
Runaya Eckart Aluminium Powders Pvt Ltd will set up an aluminium downstream manufacturing facility in Jharsuguda. Meanwhile, Scan Steels Ltd, Jay Jagannath Steel & Power Ltd, and SS Alufoils International Ltd will expand their steel, iron and ferro-alloy manufacturing capacities.
Explosives and industrial materials
Solar Industries India Ltd will establish an explosives manufacturing unit in Jharsuguda.
Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM)
Envair Electrodyne Ltd will set up an ESDM unit in Khordha.
Pharmaceuticals and medical devices
Harman Finochem Ltd will establish a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Gopalpur, Ganjam district, while Ambitech Healthcare Pvt Ltd will set up a medical device manufacturing facility in Khordha.
Circular economy and sustainability
South Block Marketing Pvt Ltd will develop an integrated recycling facility for plastic and metal products in Khordha.
Infrastructure and logistics
Tamil Nadu Ispat Pvt Ltd and Alps Mining and Infra Projects Pvt Ltd will set up a multi-modal logistics park and a coal washery project, respectively, in Jharsuguda.
Shipbuilding and maritime sector
Baleshwar Shipyard and Infra Pvt Ltd will undertake shipbuilding, repair, and construction of mechanised floating vessels in Balasore.
Tourism and hospitality
Six hospitality projects by Jas Constructions Pvt Ltd, Rath Hospitality Pvt Ltd, Keonjhar Regal Paradise Pvt Ltd, Karyon Ventures Pvt Ltd, Surya Eco Resorts Pvt Ltd, and Chaturbhuja Hotel and Resorts Pvt Ltd have also been approved.
Officials said the approvals are expected to significantly boost industrial activity, enhance infrastructure, and create employment opportunities across the state.
