Bhubaneswar: The state government has asked the officials concerned to provide caste, resident and income certificates to students at the earliest for their enrollment in educational institutions.
Revenue Department Additional Chief Secretary Arabinda Kumar Padhee has sent a communique in this regard to all district Collectors recently.
In his letter, Padhee has asked the Collectors to take appropriate steps for quick issuance of caste, resident and income certificates to students under the provisions of the Odisha Right to Public Services Act-2012.
The Revenue Department has issued a five-point directive in this regard for the officials.
As per the directive, the officials have been asked for early disposal of applications seeking various certificates.
The Revenue Department has asked the officials to issue the documents, particularly the resident and income certificates, in a time-bound manner.
The officials have been told to take immediate steps for verification for issuance of caste certificates of students.
The Revenue Inspectors (RI) have been asked to complete the required verification for caste certificates within three days.
Besides, the Revenue Department has instructed the officials not to delay the process by seeking additional documents from the applicants. They have been advised to verify the data from digital platforms.
The district Collectors and Additional Collectors will hold review meetings on regular interval to address any delay in the issuance of certificates to students.
The officials have been warned of disciplinary action in case of any problem faced by the students for delay in the issuance of certificates.
