Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha’s Rourkela city on April 21 (Tuesday) and inaugurate several projects, including an Integrated Command and Control Centre.
The President is scheduled to arrive at the Steel City at around 11.05 am and inaugurate Rourkela One Project at Civil Township. The project comprises an Integrated Command and Control Centre, a tribal museum and an auditorium.
Murmu will virtually inaugurate a mega recreational park at Koel Nagar and a planetarium at Chhend Colony. The President is scheduled to meet representatives of various organisations at Panposh circuit house before leaving Rourkela at 4.05 pm.
The Sundargarh district administration and authorities of Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) have made elaborate arrangement for the high-profile visit. The authorities have thrown a multi-layered security cover for the venue at Sector 13.
Additional DGP Sanjeeb Panda recently visited Rourkela and reviewed the security arrangement.
Several cultural troupes will perform during the President’s visit to Rourkela. Over one lakh people from across Sundargarh district, including 10,000 students, will attend the programme, reports said.
