Bhawanipatna: Two persons were killed in a tragic road accident after a BMW car rammed into the rear of a Hyva truck on the Bhawanipatna bypass road in Odisha's Kalahandi district late on Friday night.
Two occupants killed as high-speed crash leaves BMW mangled
According to preliminary information, the high-end car collided with the truck from behind, leaving the vehicle completely mangled due to the impact. The two occupants of the BMW sustained critical injuries and died in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Pintu Bag of Titlagarh in Balangir district and Gautam Nayak of the Dharamgarh area. Their bodies were recovered from the wreckage and sent for post-mortem examination.
Police said the BMW involved in the accident bore the registration number HR 26 CB 5384, indicating that it was registered in Haryana, while the Hyva truck carried the registration number OD 18 G 4932.
On receiving information, a team from the Bhawanipatna Sadar police station reached the spot, recovered the bodies and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, and police are examining all possible angles as part of the ongoing probe.
