Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two Plus II (intermediate) students drowned while bathing in a reservoir in Odisha’s Ganjam district today.

The deceased have been identified as Kanha Pradhan and Ashutos Bhuinya of Lalsingh village under Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam.

They were the students of Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja Junior College at Bhanjanagar.

As per reports, Kanha, Ashutos and four other youths of the locality went to a reservoir near Beleswar temple at Bhanjanagar for bathing in the afternoon.

The duo went missing after they reportedly ventured into deep water. On being informed, Fire Brigade personnel and police officials reached the spot and launched an operation to rescue the duo.

The two youths were later rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital. However, they were declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
