Bhubaneswar: A woman was killed and at least 20 others were injured in bee attack in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

The incident took place at Basuapada village of Erada panchayat under Bhadrak block.

The deceased has been identified as Basantilata Sahu, wife of Rajnikant Sahu, of the village.

As per reports, a swarm of honey bees from a beehive on an overhead water tank attacked Basantilata and several of his relatives and fellow villagers during a community feast yesterday. 

Basantilata and 20 others were initially rushed to a hospital at Bhadrak. She was later brought to a private health facility in the capital city here after her condition deteriorated.

Basantilata succumbed to her injuries while being treated at the private hospital today, reports said.
