BJD drops 24 sitting MLAs for 2024 Assembly polls in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has denied tickets to as many as 24 sitting MLAs for 2024 Assembly polls in Odisha.

The Naveen Patnaik-led party had altogether 112 MLAs in the 16th Odisha Assembly that got elected in 2019.

The BJD has denied tickets to former ministers Raghunandan Das, Shashi Bhusan Behera, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Samir Ranjan Dash, Padmini Dian and Bhupinder Singh.

The party also dropped sitting MLAs like Bijaya Shankar Das, Amar Prasad Satpathy, Sabitri Agarwalla, Bhagirathi Sethi, Ramesh Sai, Sunanda Das, Simarani Nayak, Jyotirindra Nath Mitra and Ananta Das.
