BJP names candidates for 6 more Assembly seats in Odisha; eminent doctor PC Mohapatra to fight from Barabati-Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced its candidates for six more Assembly seats in Odisha for 2024 polls.

The party has picked renowned doctor Purnachandra Mohapatra for Barabati-Cuttack seat while Prakash Chandra Ranabijuli will fight the polls from Begunia.

Shambhunath Rout has been nominated by the BJP from Ghasipura seat while Ashish Patra to fight the polls form Bhograi constituency.

The BJP has given ticket to Sudhanshu Nayak from Bhandaripokhari while Umesh Chandra Jena got the party nomination from Bari seat.

The party had earlier declared its candidates for 140 Assembly seats in Odisha of the total 147 in several phases for 2024 polls.

Notably, the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha will be held in four phases on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.

The counting of votes will be done on June 4.

Ghasipura—Dr. Shambhunath Rout

Bhograi—Ashish Patra

Bhandaripokhari—Sudhanshu Nayak

Bari—Umesh Chandra Jena

Barabati-Cuttack—Dr. Purnachandra Mohapatra

Begunia—Prakash Chandra Ranabijuli
