Bhubaneswar: Marking the occasion of Civil Services Day, Odisha’s Housing and Urban Development Department convened a focused meeting on Tuesday to deliberate on its reform agenda, reaffirming its commitment to citizen-centric governance and responsive public service delivery.
The meeting, held at the Kharabela Bhawan, was chaired by Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary, H&UD Department and Chairperson, IDCO. Senior officials of the department participated in the discussions.
The deliberations centered on key policy areas and reform priorities aimed at strengthening governance frameworks and improving efficiency in service delivery. Emphasis was laid on streamlining administrative processes, enhancing transparency, and leveraging institutional mechanisms to better respond to citizens’ needs.
Addressing the officers, Padhee emphasised, “Civil Services Day is an occasion to renew our collective resolve to serve with integrity, empathy, and accountability. Our reform agenda must translate into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives by making governance more accessible, efficient, and responsive.”
Reiterating the spirit of the day, the Department collectively resolved to work with renewed dedication towards people-centric governance, ensuring that public services are aligned with the aspirations of the people of Odisha.
The meeting underscored the Department’s continued focus on reforms that drive accountability, innovation, and inclusive urban development across the State.
