Sitting Anandapur MLA Bhagirathi Sethy quits BJD

Keonjhar: Bhagirathi Sethy, former legislator from Anandapur Assembly constituency segment, quitted ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today. He resigned from primary membership of the party and tendered his letter written in this regard to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.

Sethy resigned from BJD expressing his displeasure over a recent ticket allotment. Earlier, he was elected as Anandapur MLA in 2019 on a BJD ticket. The ruling party dropped Sethy’s name from the Anandapur Assembly seat and replaced him with Abhimanyu Sethi.

Aspirant Sethy resigned from BJD after the ruling party denied him a ticket this time and Abhimanyu Sethi was fielded in his place for the upcoming simultaneous polls.

Former legislators namely Surendra Sethi from Kakatpur and Bijay Kumar Naik from Karanjia Assembly constituency segments also resigned from BJD, earlier in the day.
